About 30 men detained in Turkmenabat on charges of homosexuality

Turkmen news reports that about 30 men who have been charged with homosexual relations are being held in the pre-trial detention facility in a police station in the city of Turkmenabat.

According to the news outlet, among those detained is a well-known hairdresser and a stylist as well as about 20 other men who have been caught during group sex.

It is reported that the detainees are subjected to beating and torture in order to coerce confessionary statements and denounce other LGBT individuals.
