Amreyev Thanks Turkmen Leader For His Contribution to Turkic Summit

Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreyev expressed gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for his contribution to the organization of eight summit of Turkic countries, held on November 12, 2021 in Istanbul, the official Turkmen media reported on Friday.

"Participation of Turkmenistan in this summit gave it a new look, and your far-sighted decision on Turkmenistan’s entry in the Organization of Turkic States will contribute to the beginning of a new stage of cooperation between Turkic countries," Amreyev said in his message to the Turkmen Leader.

The Head of the organization said Turkmenistan, as a reliable, responsible partner, will be able to make an important contribution to our common efforts to implement the tasks outlined in the Turkic World Vision 2040 document.

"In this context, I assure Your Excellency that the Secretariat of the organization is working on new agreements on trade facilitation, conclusion of a multilateral free trade agreement to engage all regional transport corridors, formation of strategic energy cooperation, expansion of Silk Road tourist destinations, creation of new ports, ensuring the activities of the Investment Fund," Amreyev stated in his message.

In conclusion, Baghdad Amreyev expressed confidence that strengthening ties with Turkmenistan will make a significant contribution to the development and strengthening of the unity of the Turkic world.

The eighth summit of the Turkic Council resulted in signing of the Istanbul Declaration and numerous resolutions. The council members also approved the Turkic World 2040 Vision, the decision on Turkmenistan's entry into the council as an observer state, as well as specified the statuses of partner and observer countries.
