From July 7 to July 9, 2021 with the participation of more than 30 employees of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, organized by the World Customs Organization (WCO), with the support of a coordinating expert from the Mauritian Revenue Service and the Turkish Customs Service .
The seminar was held over a three-day period with the participation of officials from the Central Office of the Service and the customs offices of the provinces.The purpose of the workshop was to support the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan in further improving its development strategies for the integrity of the customs sector and in fulfilling its international commitments in the fight against corruption.
The participants were briefed on the progress made in the field of customs in world practice and stressed the importance of the implementation of the revised Arusha Declaration of the WCO on Customs Management and Integrity.
Customs officials discussed recent anti-corruption trends, learned psychological and behavioral concepts that support anti-corruption strategies, and evaluated the effectiveness of transparency and internal control, including customs and cooperation and the exchange of information.
The training sessions included activities such as self-assessment of integrity, study and management of conflicts, analysis of risk, detection, and prevention of corruption.
