Making an appointment in the electronic pre-appointment system of the German Foreign Ministry for applying for a Schengen visa in Turkmenistan is again possible. Information on the official website of the German Embassy in Ashgabat was updated on Wednesday.
Turkmen citizens need a visa to enter Germany. The visa fee is 80 euros, but is paid only in USD (at the exchange rate on the day of application) and only in cash. Payment must be made in the exact amount equal to the visa fee (without change). Damaged banknotes will not be accepted.
An application for a visa is submitted no earlier than 3 (three) months before the start of the trip. Citizens of Turkmenistan must apply for a visa no later than 15 (fifteen) days before the planned trip. The submission of an application at the visa section must be carried out personally by the applicant.
The processing time for a visa application is usually 15 days. In some cases, the review may take longer. The German Embassy does not guarantee the issuance of a visa on a specific date and does not bear any financial responsibility in cases of delay in issuing a visa or in case of refusal.

Let us remind that since June 2022, all restrictions on entry into Germany due to COVID-19 have been temporarily lifted. From this moment, entry from Turkmenistan to Germany is again permitted. Entry into Germany no longer requires the presentation of a vaccination passport, proof of illness or testing.
In August 2022, Turkmenistan restored regular flights with Germany. Flights are operated twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays by “Turkmen Airlines”. The cost of a one-way ticket from Ashgabat to Frankfurt am Main is 8225 manats. Air tickets can be purchased online on the official website of the “Turkmenistan” Airlines.
Since September 2022, the German Embassy in Turkmenistan has been accepting visa applications in a limited number.
