Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Uzbek President Discuss Prospects For Turkmen-Uzbek Cooperation

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of the Turkmenistan’s bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in a telephone conversation on Thursday discussed prospects for Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation, the official Turkmen media reports.

During the phone talk, the Halk Maslakhaty Chairman stressed that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening bilateral relations with Uzbekistan, which, based on mutual goodwill, are becoming more profound every day.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated with satisfaction that the two countries pursue a peaceful foreign policy and play a special role in maintaining peace and harmony in Central Asia.

The sides paid special attention to the importance of further intensification of trade-economic relations between the countries.

The officials noted that there are great opportunities for joint implementation of projects in the fields of fuel-energy complex, chemicals, agriculture, industry, transport and logistics.

At the end of the conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev exchanged congratulations on the coming New Year, wishing that 2023 will be successful and prosperous for the two countries and their brotherly peoples.
