Kazakh, Afghan Businesses Procure Technical Sulphur Through Turkmen Commodity Exchange

The businesses from Kazakhstan and Afghanistan procured 30 thousand tons of granulated technical sulfur during Thursday trades at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.

During the trades, a ton of the sulphur was sold for $230. The Kazakh entrepreneur bought 20 thousand tons of granulated sulfur for a total of $4.6 million, while the Afghan company struck a deal to supply 10 thousand tons of the product for $2.3 million, the SCRMET announced on Friday.

Last week, the total amount of transactions concluded in foreign currency at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan exceeded $55 million.

Established in 1994, the SCRMET is the main body regulating export-import operations in Turkmenistan.
