Pianist Vladimir Mkrtumov will give a concert in honour of his teacher Alexander Starikov

The memorial evening of the honoured worker of art of Turkmenistan, Professor Alexander Starikov will take place on April 1 on the stage of secondary specialized music boarding school at Turkmen national conservatory named after Maya Kulieva.

Alexander Anatolevich has brought an invaluable contribution to the art of Turkmenistan and Russia. The outstanding pianist-performer, teacher, musical and the public figure, has brought up not one generation of highly skilled pianists, many of who are winners of international musical competitions.

From the 1970-ties he taught at the Turkmen state teacher training college of art which was later transformed into the national conservatory. He headed the chair of piano till 2001. Having moved to Russia, Alexander Starikov continued his activity in the Kazan conservatory where received the rank of professor.

In December, 2021 Alexander Anatolevich would have attained his 70.

One of students of the pianist honoured artist of Turkmenistan Vladimir Mkrtumov, has considered his duty to honour the memory of the untimely died instructor, having devoted him the solo concert program.

Alexander Anatolevich finished the Moscow conservatory; he was the big musician, the person of encyclopaedic knowledge.Having returned home to Ashkhabad, he taught and performed a large quantity of musical programs.

His extensive repertoire covered all from Johann Bach musical compositions to modern composers.Also by his performance Sergey Prokofiev’s all sonatas sounded.Numerous students of the teacher have reached big successes.

His competent instructions also lead me to a victory at the international competition named after Nury Halmamedov, Vladimir Mkrtumov makes comments.

By her memoirs on the glorified pianist and teacher shared the senior teacher of chamber ensemble of Turkmen national conservatory named after Maya Kulieva, diplomat of international competitions Stella Faramazova:

I studied under the supervision Alexander Starikov in assistance-probation period for concertmaster subject and then already we became colleagues.He was the person of phenomenal abilities.When he taught, he could play pieces practically from any symphony that speaks about his unusual memory.

I felt his support when I became young teacher.I often would take students to him to take his advice.He was for us an example in all.

Today in the different countries and cities there was a considerable quantity of his students who remember their teacher and continue his business.
