Priorities of Turkmen Emirati cooperation are discussed

The third session of Joint Cooperation Committee between Turkmenistan and United Arab Emirates has been held in video conference format. Turkmen delegation was chaired by Vice-premier, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and the delegation of UAE by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahayan.

It is worth to mention that last week, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has signed the Resolution approving the composition of the above-mentioned Joint Committee from Turkmen side for activation of bilateral partnership, expansion of trade and economic, scientific and technical, cultural and humanitarian relations.

During the meeting, co-chairmen of the Committee has stated with delight that traditionally friendly relations between two countries are developed steadily, which is directly supported by high level of understanding and trustful relations between the President of Turkmenistan and heads of UAE.

Matters of trade and economic relations between two countries have been discussed and mutual interest in expansion of cooperation between government and private structures and improvement of investment climate has been expressed at the session.

The sides have also exchanged the views on development of transport potential of two countries, in particular, on involvement of capabilities of maritime, railroad and air transport, use of port infrastructure for expansion of bilateral and multilateral trade and economic relations.

In this context, the importance of EXPO in Dubai, in which our country plans to participate, has been noted. During the meeting, it was highlighted that Turkmenistan is open for cooperation in implementation of energy and infrastructural projects, in particular in construction of Turkmenistan Afghanistan Pakistan India gas line.

Speaking of the opportunity of development of green economy’, the sides have exchanged the views on use of innovative technologies and expert methods in the sphere of renewable energy. In this context, the interest of Turkmenistan in expansion of cooperation under International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has been expressed.

Discussing the subjects of cultural and humanitarian aspect, the sides have spoken for expansion of cooperation in science, education, culture and sport. Relative Protocol has been signed by the outcomes of the session.
