The builders of the Olympic village in Ashgabat started installing a new alaja (national protective amulet) around the horse’s neck on the monument in the main stadium.
As of today the support for the torch at the back of the head and fixtures to attach the neck decoration have been installed.
Previously, in February 2017, a ribbon with national ornaments was installed around the neck.
It appears that the designers tried to copy the logo of the Asian Games which also features a similar ribbon. However, the President did not like it.After the President visited the stadium, which was being built, a loop was dismantled.
This is not the first case when designers have to make corrections to the projects, which had previously been approved and completed.Previously, the mascot for the 2017 Asian Games alabai, Central Asian shepherd dog called Vepaly, was fully redesigned.
Despite the fact that in January 2017 the President had approved the design, in late March he suddenly changed his opinion and demanded that it should be urgently changed.
The new design was presented a week later.
After that the customs destroyed a batch of souvenirs featuring the previous mascot for the amount of over $200,000.
In January 2017 a new monument installed in one of the circular road junctions, which had been built a month before the installation works, was dismantled in Ashgabat.
In February 2016 the entire bridge located along the road from the VIP terminal of the new airport building, which had been festively opened two months before, was completely remodeled.
