Serdar Berdymukhammedov to oversee the Central Asian Shepherd Dog breeding in Turkmenistan

The association Türkmen alabaý itleri (Turkmen Central Asian Shepherd) has been set up in Turkmenistan. The event, which was devoted to this occasion and held on 1 May, 2020, brought together representatives of NGOs, professor and cynologists.

The state information agency TDH reports that the specialized association is committed to solving the tasks of breeding and keeping a record of Central Asian Shepherds.

The President’s son Serdar Berdymukhammedov, who is occupying the post of the Minister of Industry and Construction, was appointed the chairperson of the organization.

On 13 September, 2019 President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov presented his book “Turkmen Central Asian Shepherd”.

On 18 September, 2019 khyakim of Akhal velayat Serdar Berdymukhammedov opened the breeding centre for the Central Asian Shepherd called Türkmenalabaý itleri in the etrap Ak bugdai.

On 4 November, 2019 Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Agriculture announced a tender to build breeding centers for Central Asian Shepherd in Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats.

In honour of Defenders of the Motherland Day on 27 January, 2020 the breeding centre for pedigree dogs “Turkmen Central Asian Shepherd” was opened in one of the border crossing checkpoints.
