Summit of leaders of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey postponed

The summit of the leaders of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey, scheduled for August this year, has been postponed due to the difficult situation in Turkey caused by forest fires.

President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a request to postpone it today during a telephone conversation with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the “Vatan” news program of Turkmen television reported.

“The head of the Turkmen state accepted the Turkish leader's proposal with understanding and expressed on behalf of the people, the Government and on his own behalf the words of deep empathy and support to the families, relatives and friends of the victims at this difficult moment, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to the victims,” the statement said.
