The international round table “The role of positive neutrality of Turkmenistan in ensuring sustainable development of the transport and logistics sector in the Caspian region”, organized with the assistance of the Consulate of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan (Russian Federation) and the Agency for International Relations of the Astrakhan Region, brought together business representatives, experts and the teaching staff of universities, as well as journalists from Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan Region.
The online meeting topics were “Trends and ways of development of the transport and logistics complex of Russia and Turkmenistan and areas of cooperation in the field of transport and logistics in the Caspian region” and “Personnel support for the logistics sector in the Caspian region, joint work of higher educational institutions in the field of transport and logistics”.
The speeches by Consul of Turkmenistan G. Garayev and acting Head of the Agency for International Relations of the Astrakhan Region I. Toropitsyn aroused keen interest.
The meeting was also attended by the heads of seaports, representatives of the special economic zone “Lotos”, transport and logistics centers and business communities, the managing and teaching staff of the Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan (IETTCT), the Caspian Institute of Sea and River Transport named after F.M.
Apraksin (KIMRT) and the Astrakhan State Technical University (ASTU).
Further ways to develop cooperation were discussed, and a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan and the Caspian Institute of Sea and River Transport named after General Admiral F.M. Apraksin.
