The head of Turkmenistan, together with family members, took part in the presidential elections

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, together with his mother, took part in the presidential elections held today in Turkmenistan, the Russian news agency TASS reports.

Having voted early in the morning, the Berdimuhamedov's family were among the first voters to come to the country's polling stations that day to fulfill their civic duty.

The Turkmen leader voted at polling station No. 48 of the Kopetdag etrap of Ashgabat, located at school No. 68 named Annaniyaz Artyk.

His son, a candidate from the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, also voted at this polling station. He also visited the site with numerous family members.

Also present were national, independent and international observers, a large group of foreign and domestic journalists covering the elections of the President of Turkmenistan.

We remind that the presidential elections in Turkmenistan are held on an alternative basis, 9 candidates are running for the highest state post.
