The stage of the international tournament in tennis for the Davis Cup will pass in Ashkhabad from September 6 to September 12, this year.The Turkmen national team under the supervision of Mirali Gasanov conducts intense training for competitions.
On the team which will protect honour of the country in this tournament, are the best players of the country taking in the lead positions in the national rating.
Preparation for the Davis Cup goes at full speed. Besides tennis and physical preparations, we have psychological practice with the qualified expert, the member of the national team of Turkmenistan Atly Kurbanov who acts both in single, and pair categories, tells.
Atly became the prize-winner of national superiority and tournaments for several times and now is the teacher of Turkmen state institute of physical culture and sports.
Atly came to tennis at the age of seven.
When I was small, my grandmother often went to Germany to her granddaughters.Then during free time from study they were engaged in tennis under skilled trainers.Having attended their trainings and having observed game, the grandmother was lighted up with desire to enrol me and my brother for the tennis section and she did so upon her return to Turkmenistan, he tells.
During school vacation Atly attended various tournaments in tennis in Europe. Precipitancy of game, beauty of movements and staginess all it involved the boy, and he made a decisive choice in favour of tennis though along with he practised music played the violin and piano.
I have chosen tennis. I began more time to devote to it, each time opening for myself the new parties of this “royal” sport, he admits.
According to the tennis player, sports has played a defining value in his life, helped to find many friends and acquaintances and formulated his purposes.The nearest plans of Atly to win at the Ashkhabad stage of the Davis Cup, and further to become the good trainer and to bring up champions who will raise the international prestige of Turkmen tennis.
