Turkmen Businesses Operate 450 Hectares of Greenhouses

Member businesses of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the country (UIET) presently operate more than 100 greenhouses with a total area of 450 hectares in the country.

A significant share of agricultural products harvested in these greenhouses is exported to foreign countries, the UIET reported on Saturday.

According to the agricultural department of the UIET, in the spring season alone, the owners of greenhouse farms exported about 50 thousand tons of tomatoes, which is more than in the entire 2020.

In March of this year, six high-tech greenhouses of the UIET members with a total area of 35 hectares were simultaneously opened in Turkmenistan. They are designed to produce 8,750 tons of vegetable products annually.
