Turkmen diplomats organize bicycle races in Ankara and Istanbul

On June 3, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Turkish Republic with the support of the WHO Turkey organized bicycle race on occasion of the World Bicycle Day.Turkmen students, getting education in Ankara universities, the representatives of a number of diplomatic missions, accredited in Turkey, TRT1 State TV channel and Anadolu Agency News Agency took part in the race.

The sports event was held on a special bike path on the shore of the Eymir Lake near Ankara, the bike riders cycled 12 km.During the ceremony of opening of the sports event, it was emphasized that the adoption of the Resolution of the UN General Assembly on the establishment of the World Bicycle Day on the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan demonstrated the world community’s high appreciation of Turkmenistan’s efforts on development of sports and physical culture, popularization of cycling, creation of conditions for the harmonious development of the younger generation, formation of the ecological culture in the society.

A bike ride organized by the Consulate General of Turkmenistan was also held on the World Bicycle Day in Istanbul.The event was attended by diplomats and students from our country, studying in universities in Istanbul.
