Turkmenistan again sends humanitarian aid to Astrakhan

On 1 April, 20201 Russia’s Ministry of Emergency situations delivered 12 tons of medical supplies to Ashgabat as humanitarian aid to Turkmen residents.

Later the same day President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov ordered to send humanitarian aid to Astrakhan region of Russia, the state information agency TDH reports.

The news outlet did not specify the content of the cargo but simply pointed out that “these were Turkmenistan-produced goods”.

Judging by television footage, two containers, including boxes of biscuits, cosmetics medical and other supplies, were sent to Astrakhan.

Let us recall that from 30 March to 2 April, 2021 the Turkmen delegation headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov and Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdymukhammedov paid an official visit to Russia.

In May 2020 Turkmenistan sent humanitarian aid for the value of $1 million to Astrakhan.
