Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan will jointly develop the Dostluk field in the Caspian

Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on joint exploration, construction and development of the Dostluk hydrocarbon field in the Caspian Sea.

The signing ceremony of this extremely important document was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Thursday, January 21. Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Ilham Aliyev took addressed the participants via video link.

The memorandum was signed by the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries Rashid Meredov and Jeyhun Bayramov, who arrived in Ashgabat at the head of the Azerbaijani delegation especially for this mission.

The memorandum, which opens a new chapter in cooperation between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan in the energy sector, is the result of joint efforts to create an atmosphere of lasting peace, good-neighborliness, and equal partnership in the Caspian region.
