Topical issues of bilateral cooperation and important agreements being prepared for signing were discussed today by the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in a telephone conversation. To this end, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev to visit Turkmenistan, the official website of the President of Kazakhstan reports.
The invitation was accepted with gratitude. The dates of the visit will be agreed through diplomatic channels, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
During the conversation, the head of the neighboring state once again expressed deep condolences to the Turkmen leader in connection with the irreparable loss - the death of Malikguly Berdimuhamedov's father and conveyed the words of sincere sympathy and empathy from all Kazakhstan people.
Thanking President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his condolences, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized that he highly appreciates the support provided and values the fact that the people of Kazakhstan and its leader share deep sorrow and bitterness of loss in these difficult days.
The heads of the two states were unanimous in the opinion that the trusting nature of the Turkmen-Kazakh relations will allow not only to successfully implement the agreements reached, but also to further form new areas of interaction, taking into account the realities of our time.
In this regard, the presidents confirmed their readiness to combine the efforts of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in order to increase the volume of mutual trade, implement projects in the field of industry, agriculture, energy, transport and logistics.
An agreement was reached to hold a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission this year in order to give an additional impetus to cooperation between the two countries.
The President of Kazakhstan expressed support for holding the next Consultative meeting of the heads of Central Asian countries in the capital of Turkmenistan, if there is a consensus on this issue.
He also expressed gratitude to the head of the Turkmen state for supporting Kazakhstan's initiatives within the Council of Turkic-speaking States, as well as for Turkmenistan's joining the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) as an observer.
