On the occasion of the World Health Day, a bicycle ride was held in Ashgabat with the participation of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov.
Addressing the audience, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov congratulated everyone on the World Health Day. As the Head of state stressed, this wonderful holiday embodies the high principles of friendship, peace and sport. In this regard, it occupies a special place in the national calendar as an important date that contributes to strengthening the unity and cohesion of society.
As a member of the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia, our country makes a worthy contribution to the development of the Olympic Movement in the world. This year, the capital's Olympic town will host the UCI Track Cycling World Championships and the Davis Cup Group IV (Asia / Oceania region).
These days, together with international sports organizations, comprehensive measures are being taken to prepare for the above-mentioned major competitions and further strengthen cooperation, the head of Turkmenistan continued.
