Orazmuhammet Charyev has been appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Jordan, says the published decree of the President of the country.
The diplomat will remain at the same time the head of the diplomatic mission in Saudi Arabia.
Political consultations between Turkmenistan and Jordan were held in Amman in April. The spheres of energy, transport and agriculture were noted among the areas of mutual interest.
The spirit of the countries' cooperation was stimulated by the official visit of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Jordan at the end of June 2009 and his talks with king Abdullah II, at which the "coincidence of views" on the urgent problem of contemporary times the energy security was noted.
Turkmenistan plays the role of one of the key actors in the energy market of the Caspian region and Central Asia, as it has the world-scale natural gas reserves.
