Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has received Belarus Ambassador Vyacheslav Beskosty, who presented his credentials, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmenistan State News Agency.
The diplomat reaffirmed Belarus’ commitment to the traditional relations of friendship and fruitful cooperation with Turkmenistan, the report said.
The head of state emphasized that Turkmenistan also aims to strengthen and expand the constructive bilateral dialogue, built on the principles of equality and mutual respect.
The sides discussed issues related to intensification of bilateral economic cooperation, joint implementation of important projects and increase in mutual trade.
Turkmenistan and Belarus play an important role in ensuring regional security in both Central Asia and the Eastern Europe region, the report said.
