Putin presents Order of Alexander Nevsky to Turkmen president

Following the negotiations of Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, with participation of members of official delegations of the two countries, a solemn ceremony of awarding the Turkmen head with a high state award of the Russian Federation Order of Alexander Nevsky took place in the Palace complex “Oguzhan” Oct. 2, the Turkmen Dovlet Habarlary state news agency reported.

Having expressed his sincere gratitude to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin for the honour, the Turkmen leader noticed that accepts this honorable award as a sign of respect for all Turkmen people, a symbol of steady growth and all-round strengthening of traditionally friendly Turkmen-Russian relations.

Having underlined that today Russia is a strategic partner of Turkmenistan, cooperation of two countries dynamically develops in all directions, President Berdimuhamedov expressed belief that the existing high level of trust and mutual understanding between the two countries’ people will further serve to form a strong basis for further development of Turkmen-Russian partnership.
