Russia not in talks with Turkmenistan over gas supply - energy ministry

Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 7

By Nigar Guliyeva Trend:

Russia is not negotiating with Turkmenistan on resumption of gas supplies, Russian media reported referring to Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Yanovsky.

Asked how the talks between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan are processing on resumption of gas, Yanovsky said: "As far as I know, there are no talks. We paused it at the time, and it's still in place. As far as I know, there is no talks until the end of 2019."

In 2015, Russia's Gazprom Export initiated proceedings against Turkmengaz in the Stockholm Arbitration Court. Gazprom asked the arbitration court to reconsider the price of natural gas purchased from Turkmengaz.

Previously, the Turkmen side stated that Gazprom has not paid its debts to Turkmengaz for its gas supplies since early 2015.
