Turkmenistan actively cooperating with WIPO

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is holding a seminar on “Intellectual Property Policy in Universities and Research Institutions” in Turkmenistan's Ashgabat, the Turkmen Altyn Asyr TV channel reported Oct. 10.

The event is held with the assistance of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan. The main topics include the activities of WIPO, the role of intellectual property, intellectual property policy in universities and research institutions of Turkmenistan, the report said.

Deputy Director of the Department for Transition and Developed Countries at WIPO Giovanni Napolitano noted that Turkmenistan is actively integrating into international policy to develop a balanced and accessible international system, stimulating creative activity, innovations and contributing to economic progress in the public interest.

WIPO members include more than 190 countries.
