Turkmenistan, US mull prospects for business partnership

Ashgabat hosted a regular meeting of the US-Turkmenistan Business Council, Turkmenistan State News Agency reported Dec. 15.

Representatives of such US companies as Westport Trading Europe Limited, Oxbow Sulfur, General Electric, Elizarov Consulting Group, CNH Industrial N.V., John Deere, Boeing took part in the meeting.

Fuel and energy sector was one of the main topics of the meeting. For Turkmenistan, diversification of transport infrastructure that can ensure delivery of energy resources through the creation of a branched network of a multivariate pipeline system is the strategic priority of ensuring energy security, according to the report.

“Participants of the meeting were informed on projects being implemented in this direction and prospects for business partnership,” said the report.

Representatives of the US business circles stressed readiness to offer their solutions for implementing joint projects in strategic spheres.

At the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on the transport and communication sector. Turkmenistan is striving to form modern logistics centers and optimize transport flows in the Eurasian space.

Particular attention was paid to partnership in the financial and banking sector, chemical industry, construction, energy, agriculture, food industry.
