During the session of the Government of Turkmenistan, the Program of events and celebrations scheduled for year 2018 that will celebrate the slogan “Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road” was submitted for consideration of the head of state.
Throughout the year, key historical and cultural sites of the country, once crossed by the Great Silk Road, will host scientific conferences, creative festivals, musical performances, archaeological exhibitions and folk contests; furthermore, theater plays, compilations of pieces by destan singers, thematic editorial production and souvenirs will be prepared.
A series of events will be dedicated to the national rite of singing and dancing, Kushtdepdi, that was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Cultural Heritage.In this regard, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the need to intensify the work in the cultural sphere and the search for new talents.
It is the contribution of the cultural and art figures that largely defines the further progress of the State and the society, stressed the head of state.In the context of preparing the events dedicated to the slogan of 2018, “Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road”, their specific importance for the further study and global promotion of the richest historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people was highlighted.
Each of these events must have a great educational value, be informative and facilitate development, stated the President and signed the submitted document.
