02.03.2018 | Turkmenistan’s GDP increases by 6.2 per cent in January-February

As reported at the session of the Government of Turkmenistan that reviewed the results of the two months of 2018, the GDP increased by 6.2 percent, with a 4.8 percent growth in the industrial sector, 10.4 percent in transport and communication, 8.4 percent in trade, 3.4 percent in agriculture and 10.1 percent in services.

Production of goods increased by 4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.Retail trade turnover grew by 18.1percent compared to the similar period in 2017.

Prices for consumer goods and tariffs for public services remained within the set limits.Export of goods increased by 18 percent.Average monthly wages in large and medium-sized enterprises of the country grew by 9.8 percent compared to the same period in 2017.

According to preliminary data, in January-February the State budget revenues equaled to 2 billion manats, while the expenditures amounted to 1.9 billion manats.Salaries, pensions, state benefits and student bursaries were paid in due time and in full.

Under the national transformative program, 63 social facilities, 31 water treatment plants, 416.9 thousand square meters of housing and various engineering systems are being constructed in the regions.

The total amount of implemented investments reached 172.6 million manats.
