10.09.2020 | The President of Turkmenistan and Ambassador of India share views on perspectives of cooperation

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has received new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan Vidhu Pithambaran Nair who presented his credentials to the Head of the State.

Having expressed deep gratitude for time spared for the audience, the diplomat conveyed warm greetings to Turkmen leader from President of the Republic of India Rama Natha Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modu who confirmed the willingness to activate constructive Turkmen Indian dialog.

At the same time it was noted that India comprehensively supports the policy of wide international dialog of the Head of Turkmenistan, actual international initiatives proposed by Turkmen leader for comprehensive strengthening of peace, stability and wealth in regional and global scale.

The President of Turkmenistan has addressed best wishes to the heads of friendly country and congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to responsible post, having wished big success in his noble mission, which is aimed at intensification of beneficial partnership that successfully develops on bilateral and multilateral base including under big international organizations and structures.

Turkmen leader has stated that our nations are connected with historical, spiritual and cultural roots that go deep to the centuries, which is indicated by old manuscripts and monuments remained in friendly country.

Great sons of Turkmen nation outstanding politician and warlord, thinker and talented writer of the East Bayram Khan Turkmen and his son Abdurahim Khan, have made glorious contribution to the history of India.

Indian people pay great respect to their heritage.Turkmen Gates, which were built in the heart of India capital, are architectural symbol of cooperation and synthesis of culture of two nations.

India has always been and remains to be an important partner of our country, the head of the State continued. We sincerely care of Turkmen-Indian relations and pay special attention to their further development, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted, having noted that cooperation between our countries receives new content meeting time realities and mutual interests.

Status of permanent neutrality delegated to Turkmenistan by the United Nations supports successful implementation of open doors policy and promotion of international initiatives aimed at sustainable development, peace and common progress, Turkmen leader said.

During the meeting, the sides have exchanged the views on the main aspect of international relations, the strengthening of which is supported by trustful Turkmen Indian dialog on high level as well as proximity or similarity of positions of two states in number of important directions of international and regional agenda.

In this context, currency of initiatives of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on formation of international transport and transit corridors and provision of global energy security has been highlighted.

Discussion of opportunity of acceleration of implementation rates of the project of construction of Turkmenistan Afghanistan Pakistan India transnational gas line, which is aimed at restoration of the Silk Road in new format and improvement of wellbeing of the people of Southeast Asia as mentioned by Turkmen leader, was a separate subject of the meeting.

Having confirmed the interest of India in acceleration of construction of TAPI gas line, the Ambassador expressed confidence that completion of this grandiose project would support the development of economic cooperation in regional and international scales.

Having stated high dynamics of development of interstate dialog remained for all these years, the Head of the State and authorized representative of friendly country highlighted importance of Intergovernmental Turkmen Indian Commission for trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation.

Need of consolidation of efforts in such spheres as energy and transport, where Turkmenistan made constructive initiatives, in particular for the formation of international transit and transport corridors providing optimal economic routes for cargo traffic, has been noted.

Speaking of positive practice of cooperation in health protection sphere, which is indicated by implementation of one of the most important joint Turkmen Indian projects opening of Turkmenderman Ajanta Pharma Limited facility, the head of the State has spoken for continuation of beneficial partnership.

It was highlighted that trustful character of relations, which are based on community of historical and cultural roots, allows making new directions of bilateral cooperation.

In this regard, importance of further activation of humanitarian exchange for study of historical and cultural heritage of Turkmen and Indian people has been noted. Future partnership in scientific and educational sphere and information technology field has also been highlighted.

Having expressed gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for attention paid to Turkmen Indian cooperation, the diplomat assured that he would comprehensively support the strengthening of interstate relations.
