11.01.2018 | WADA head thanked the President of Turkmenistan for supporting the purposes of protecting doping-free athletes

“First of all, on behalf of the World Anti-Doping Agency, I, would like to thank You, as the President of Turkmenistan and the President of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan, for rendering continued support to WADA and our purposes of protecting doping-free athletes”, the message of World Anti-Doping Agency President Craig Reedy says.

Under Your patronage Turkmenistan hosted a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Doping Organization of Central Asia and a seminar on training doping control inspectors in in May 2017.

I am pleased to report that according to the participants a meeting was successful.I also would like to congratulate You and the Executive Committee of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games for organizing and holding these Games in Ashgabat at a high level.

In addition, I am glad to hear about the adoption in Turkmenistan of the Anti-Doping Law and the establishment of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Turkmenistan - NADAT.

The growing success of your country in international sports was demonstrated to a large extent during the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, where Turkmenistan ranked first in the standings with 89 gold medals.

WADA remains committed to assisting Turkmenistan in developing the NADAT so that the effectiveness of the national anti-doping program enables the Turkmen athletes to continue winning clean victories.
