An exhibition of economic achievements of Turkmenistan has opened in Ashgabat.Traditionally held ahead of Independence Day, the economic forum offers a special year-end account, which clearly demonstrates achievements in the national economy.
The intersectoral exhibition, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was attended by representatives of organizations and departments of Turkmenistan’s state sector, educational, cultural, sport and tourism institutions and privately-run enterprises.
Among those in attendance at the opening ceremony were government members, leaders of the national parliament, sectoral ministries and agencies, our country’s business community, heads of the diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan, students and the mass media.
The diverse exposition is being held in the Expo Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.The dominant theme of the exhibition is diversification of the national economy, import substitution and export expansion, and accelerated modernization of production.
All this can be easily seen on multiple stands, displaying the process of improving all sectors of the economy, ongoing on an unprecedented scale.Video films, colorful models, printed materials (booklets, brochures, magazines) amply demonstrate the development dynamics of the following sectors: power production and industry, oil and gas, petrochemistry, construction and building materials, transport, communications, textile industry, carpet weaving, chemical industry, agriculture, water economy, agroindustrial sector, medical industry, education, culture, sport, tourism, printing industry, nature protection and landscaping.
This year, an exhibition stand of the Ministry of Industry features modern easy-to-handle and durable electrical appliances that fully meet high international standards.Among them are high-quality vacuum cleaners, electric cookers, LED lamps, electric power meters of new generation, and other present-day devices, which are a big draw for visitors.
The exhibition also showcases products manufactured by local enterprises, such as various grades of cement, metal and plastic pipes, as well as street furniture and equipment benches, streetlights, paving tiles, and others.
The key industry of the country’s economy, the fuel and energy sector, is well presented at the exhibition.The stands demonstrate accelerated development of the industry with a special emphasis on new export and import-substituting products.
A stand of the Turkmenbashi Refinery Complex exhibits various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, industrial oil, kerosene, and others.A big variety of products and their top quality testify to the successful implementation of new deeper-conversion technologies, and growing competitiveness of Turkmenistan in the oil product market.
Turkmen entrepreneurs have been making a big contribution to strengthening the country’s economy and expanding production in different sectors.Visitors cannot fail to notice beautiful Aýbölek furniture, Çigildem bedroom suites, Hasar confectionery, Sahabatly and Täze aý dairy and cheese products, Erteki ice-creams, 8 Ýap fruit juices, and meat products displayed on stands of local entrepreneurs.
Various household appliances, which are assembled and sold by local private enterprises, also draw visitors’ attention.On view are gas cookers, cooker hoods, electric irons and other home electronics machines.
Domestic manufacturers offer a wider selection of bathroom ceramics, produced from locally-available raw materials and with the use of original technology.Models of completed and soon-to-be-constructed buildings by the Ministry of Construction and Architecture have become a centerpiece of architectural design at the exhibition.
Today, local specialists are constructing modern buildings, industrial and social facilities, residential buildings with modern-day amenities, kindergartens, educational institutions, and world-class medical centers at accelerated paces.The Ministry of Education and educational institutions also showcase their achievements.
Students from different universities and institutes present their wonderful inventions robots, smart home systems, computer programs...This year’s stand of the State Sports Committee holds special appeal for visitors.
