13.12.2017 | Philippines Ambassador presented his credentials to the Head of the National parliament

On behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairperson of the Mejlis A.Nurberdyeva received credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to Turkmenistan Wilfredo S.

Santos.On behalf of the Head of the state, the Head of the National parliament congratulated the ambassador on his appointment to a high diplomatic post and wished successes in the development of bilateral cooperation.

The Plenipotentiary of the Philippines addressed congratulations and warm wishes to the President and Turkmenistan people on the occasion of the International Neutrality Day marked on the eve, stressing that he considers it honorable to carry out his mission entrusted to him in the peacemaker country.

During the meeting, the ambassador was briefed on the key vectors of the state's domestic policy, the scale of the transformative processes being carried out in Turkmenistan.In particular, it was informed about the measures being taken in the field of youth policy, on involving the population in a healthy way of life, in the development of the scientific and educational sphere, as well as in sports and tourism.

The information about work on studying and popularization of a national historical and cultural heritage in the world was sounded.The diplomat was acquainted with the structure and multilateral activities of the Mejlis, its role in the light of the democratic reforms being carried out.

Wilfredo S.Santos, in turn, stressed that the neutrality policy and international initiatives of the Turkmen leader aimed at ensuring universal security and sustainable development cause great respect in the Philippines and the world at large.

As the ambassador noted, while in Turkmenistan, he had an opportunity to witness firsthand the scale of the social reforms being implemented.In this context, the Plenipotentiary stressed the desire to establish closer and more productive cooperation with the Turkmen state, including education and tourism.

A proposal was made to establish direct inter-parliamentary relations, which serve as an important factor in strengthening bilateral relations.Expressing interest in the multifaceted interaction of the two states, the diplomat stressed that he will do his best for the successful promotion of the Turkmen-Philippine dialogue. ***On the same day, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to Turkmenistan was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where an interested exchange of views took place on priority areas of the partnership.
