As it has been informed earlier, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave start to the construction of new railway from Serhetabat (Turkmenistan) to Turgundy railway station (Afghanistan) on November 29.As for today, Turkmen railway constructors accomplished half of the planned works at this facility.
The construction of this railway is important project for the increment of the trade turnover via Turgundy, for creation of favourable conditions for the export of Afghan production to external markets as well as for considerable increase of delivery terms of necessary goods to Afghanistan, - President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani highlighted in his cable to Turkmen leader.
The Head of fraternal country expressed deep gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for comprehensive support and large input to the expansion of friendly neighbour relations between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
Important role of large infrastructural projects initiated by our country that are aimed to support social and economic restoration of Afghanistan and its integration to regional partnership was highlighted at VII Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA VII).
Signing of five-sided agreement on the establishment of Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey international transport corridor Lyapis Lazuli was very important outcomes of the forum.This corridor will support the consolidation of the cooperation on vast geo-economics space including the regions of Central and South Asia, Caspian and Black sea basins and Mediterranean.
Two weeks right after the forum, our country commenced the implementation of the recommendation of this representative meeting Turkmen railway constructors started the construction of the railway to Afghan city of Turgundy, which role in the economy and trade turnover of Afghanistan would be considerable improved as this railway is the most convenient route for the export of domestic goods and import of required foreign products.
Railways and roads existing in Turkmenistan already make considerable part of this transport corridor and inclusion of Turgundy railway station is aimed at first at the facilitation of the transit logistics, improvement of economic integration of Afghanistan and increase of the trade volumes in the region.
Therefore, Serhetabat Turgundy railway will allow creating additional prepositions for the development of the economy of Afghanistan and will open new opportunities for activation of small and medium business in this country and entry of Afghan products to the markets of neighbouring states.
Holding active position on the subjects of the restoration of Afghanistan, our country made number of important proposals.They all are aimed at the development of coordinated approaches to the solution of Afghan range of problems by providing of its political space for negotiation process.
In this regard, Turkmenistan proposed the initiatives from the high podium of the United Nations on consolidation of the efforts in elaboration of new mechanisms for the stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan, particularly on the development of long-term programme for the restoration of the economy of this country under the UN aegis.
Opening of Turkmenistan Trade House in Mazari-Sharif, Balkh Province of Afghanistan was one of the practical measures taken by our country for economic cooperation with the IRA.This project was made by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan together with afghan private companies under support of the Government structures of both countries.
Food production of Turkmen manufacturers consolidates its positions in external markets.Afghan consumers have already appreciated the quality and taste of food products supplied by our country.Turkmenistan Trade House also presents big variety of confectionary, natural fruit juices, fruit and vegetable canned food and other.
Turkmenistan steadily increase the volumes of energy supplied to Afghanistan, builds social facilities in border provinces.Thus, maternity hospital has been built in Herat by the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
According to the instructions of the Head of the State, doctors and nurses team as well as necessary medicines and auxiliary equipment have been sent there to arrange the work of this medical facility and to train the personnel.
Opening of joint trade centre is another step of Turkmenistan in the establishment of stable life of Afghan people.In this relation, the trade has always been a good tool for social and economic prosperity and international cooperation in all directions.
Communication routes are necessary for the trade.Actively developing transport communications, our country turns into the most important intersection of the railways and large logistic centre of Eurasia.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov speaking at the launching ceremony of Serhetabat - Turgundy railway construction noted that the development of transport communications is one of the most important conditions of efficient international partnership.
Important role is given to the full involvement of the railways potential in harmonic development of all branches of national economy and multimodal system of Turkmenistan.Therefore, special attention is paid to its expansion and modernization.
Kazakhstan Turkmenistan Iran and Kerky (formerly Atamyrat) Imamnazar Akina railroads can be brought as example of this.After opening of this railway, which gave start to the construction of Turkmenistan - Afghanistan Tajikistan railroad, new opportunities for efficient realization of transit and transport potential of our countries and their active intergradation in the system of modern international economic relations have been made.
The countries participating in the project get the entry to new markets and yet, this is the key to social and economic development, construction of new cities, facilities and creation of new employment for Afghanistan.
This road, which restores the Great Silk Road and is to improve transport and transit potential of our sovereign country, will be important international corridor in Europe, Asia, Pacific and South Asia directions.
Its main purpose is to support the consolidation of fruitful trade and economic cooperation with the states of the region serving to the interests of million people and universal peace and prosperity.

The construction of Turkmenbashy International Seaport, Ashgabat Turkmenbashy autobahn and other is coming to the end.Convenient and safe international corridors with the involvement of railroad, automobile, air and water transport are made in the country what provides sustainable development in the region, consolidation of neighbour relations between the peoples, political and cultural cooperation and increase of trade turnover volumes.
This and other routes planned for construction open new opportunities for fruitful relations between the countries of the region and for consolidation of their economic power.It cannot help saying about the construction of Turkmenistan Afghanistan Pakistan India transnational gas line initiated by our country.
It is planned to lay electrical and fibre optic lines under this project what makes the role of the pipeline in dynamic development of the region more important.Now, another important project for the prosperity of neighbouring state the construction of the railway from Turkmenistan to Afghan city of Turgundy is coming to the end.
Later, the railways and roads will connect Turgundy, Herat with Ashgabat, further with Turkmenbashy Port on Caspian Sea.The corridor will be continued across the Caspian to Baku and after to Ankara and Istanbul via Tbilisi.
Today, reviving Afghanistan actively seeks for new markets for its agricultural production and for trade and transit routes.Turkmenistan makes step forward to fraternal country.After commissioning of Turgundy station and modernized railway until Serhetabat connection station that opens the entry to other states of the region and beyond their borders via railway network of our country, the profit of Afghan agricultural producers will increase several times.
Hence, the wealth of their families will also be improved.This project, financed and realized by Turkmenistan, will support the increment of interstate cargo transportation in the region as well as the accretion of our country as important transport and logistic centre of the region and the continent.
