25 years in prison threatens defendants in the case of the death of football player Diego Maradona. This is the term that can be assigned to doctors who, according to the prosecutor’s office, committed the murder by negligence.
Prosecutors, investigating the death of the Argentine footballer, consider, that the medical staff, who were supposed to care for Maradona during his recovery from surgery actually abandoned the footballer “to the mercy of fate” and left him in a helpless state, writes secretmag.ru.
The football player's personal doctor Leopoldo Luque and psychiatrist Agustin Kosachova are the main defendants. In total eight doctors, who treated the famous football player in his last years are accused of negligent murder. The prosecution insists, that the doctors were negligent, although they knew, that this could cost Maradona his life.
The Argentine football star died on November 25, 2020 at the age of 60.
