The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the presentation of the second book of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Turkmenistan the Heart of the Great Silk Road”, which was published in Turkish and Ukrainian languages.
Heads of diplomatic mission and representatives of international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, lecturers and students of high educational institutes, representatives of mass media took part in the ceremony.Opening the meeting, the Director of the Institute of International Relations highlighted that monograph of Turkmen leader reflects the concept of modern development of Turkmenistan, which is based on historical experience, traditions of peace-making and good neighbourliness, honouring of spiritual heritage of the nation.
Right after the publication, both the first and the second books “Turkmenistan the heart of the Great Silk Road” became very popular I our country and abroad.The main idea of this work is to comprehend an initiative and creative position of our country in the world arena through the prism of its historical way.
Multidimensional analysis of civilization phenomena of the Silk Road, which supported the development of economic, diplomatic, scientific and cultural relations between the East and the West, provides today’s role of independent neutral Turkmenistan in integrational processes of present day.
In his turn, Secretary General of International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Dyusenbay Kaseyinov, who made his speech in Turkmen language, noted significant achievements of our country in development of national culture and art.
Speaking of the importance of fundamental work of Turkmen leader, Dyusenbay Kaseyinov highlighted that the book analysed the history of the Silk Road, which has made huge impact of the development of humankind.
The process of unprecedented interchange of cultures of various nations, expansion of space on international communication have been activated owing to this intercontinental route.Exchange of knowledge, technologies, artistic methods was going on, the fundamentals of political and economic diplomacy have been laid.
It was mentioned that relative features are traceable in the culture of many nations, which are separated from each other in geographical aspect by thousands of kilometres.And this is no surprise as an intensive process of cultural dialog, which has not stopped in our days, was continued throughout the centuries.
Cooperation under the TURKSOY, which mission is aimed at the development and strengthening of relations between Turkic speaking countries in cultural and art sphere, activation of scientific studies in ethnic genesis, history, language, literature, national and cultural traditions, has great importance in this dialog.
Taking the opportunity, Dusenbay Kaseyinov expressed the gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for active support of the cooperation under the TURKSOY, having expressed the confidence that it will be successfully developed.
Speaking to the participants, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan Mustafa Kapucu noted that historical and spiritual similarity of two nations, commitment of both countries to the course toward full-scale beneficial cooperation are reliable foundation of friendly Turkmen Turkish relations.Regular cultural events like concerts, exhibitions of decorative and applied art, tours of famous Turkish and Turkmen artists, participation of cultural personnel in international conferences and festivals, Days of Culture support the expansion of humanitarian contacts.
Joint study and popularization of the heritage of great poets and thinkers are carried out.Publication of new book is an important event in the history of Turkmen Turkish relations, which become stronger every year, a factor of deep respect of the Head of Turkmenistan, recognition of big merits of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in versatile state, political, scientific and cultural activity.
In his speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Turkmenistan Valentin Shevalyov noted that the book of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Turkmenistan the Heart of the Great Silk Road” gained big popularity not only in our country but abroad as well.
Owing to its translation into Ukrainian language, huge reading audience received an opportunity to expand their knowledge about ancient history and rich culture of Turkmen nation and its spiritual values.
During the presentation, it was mentioned that Turkmenistan carries out an active work under transnational project “The Monuments of the Silk Road” declared by the UNESCO.At present, 25 historical and cultural monuments of Turkmenistan located along the Silk Road are nominated to the World Cultural Heritage List.
This subject has also been elaborated by other participants of the presentation who noted that Turkmenistan and Central Asia in general serve as a unique link between Mediterranean, Caucasus, India and China and other regions of Eurasia, which supported an intensive exchange of information and achievements.
It has touched upon not only the trade but also the alphabet, visual art, musical culture, religion and served to the development of science and spirituality.The participants noted informational value of book “Turkmenistan the Heart of the Great Silk Road”.
It was highlighted that the book allows making an objective evaluation of historical way of Turkmen people, learning their national and cultural originality, traditions and way of life, understanding priceless input of Turkmen nation to the world scientific, economic and cultural progress.
Today, the cooperation in humanitarian sphere is understood in the world as an important tool for support of understanding between the nations, creation of favourable climate for their political and economic cooperation.
Consolidating role of independent neutral Turkmenistan in this process is obvious.Progressive peace-making, transport, cultural and humanitarian initiatives of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who makes actual proposals on restoration of the Silk Road and takes steadfast measures for their implementation, are aimed at this.
