Mass sowing of winter crops has started in Turkmenistan.Agricultural campaign was launched in Ahal, Balkan and Mary Velayats.Taking into account soil and climate conditions and agrotechnical requirements, winter crops sowing in Dashoguz Velayat will start on September 5.

According to good tradition, the start of the sowing was blessed by the elders.Having put the first seeds of winter wheat to prepared land saying “Let each seed will grow in full ear!”, the elders and their young assistants passed symbolical baton of the sowing to the farmers who started work immediately.

This year, the fields under grain crops will occupy 760 thousand hectares, from which the farmers will have to take 1,600,000 tons of grain including 450,000 tons in Ahal Velayat, 380,000 tons in Mary Velayat, 350,000 tons in Lebap Velayat, 300,000 tons in Dashoguz and 120,000 tons in Balkan Velayats.

Turkmen famers has thoroughly prepared to responsible campaign, having ploughed and fertilized the fields designated for next year wheat harvest.Quality seed of productive species of food wheat like Sahrayi, Juvan, Bitarap, Yoloten 1, Yoloten 3, Turkmenbashy 1, Gyzylshaglavyk 25, Miras, Akbash, Yubileynay 100, Bat’ko and Wassa have been prepared for the sowing.

The grain growers are comprehensively provided with necessary agricultural equipment.The Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management of the country informed the TDH that more than 2,600 units of ploughing and 7,800 Case, CLAAS, John Deere, “Belarus 80N” and Belarus 82.1” arable-till tractors as well as more than 1,960 sowing machines and other equipment would be used in current campaign.

High labour mechanization is the key aspect of the improvement of efficiency of agricultural production.It is worth reminding that according to the Resolution of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed in December 2016, the Ministry of Agriculture and water Management signed the contracts with Umax Trade GmbH (Germany) and John Deere International GmbH (Switzerland) on supply of big lot of agricultural equipment, ploughs, planters, dredgers as well as spare parts and consumables for them on 3 stage delivery terms in 2017 2020.

At the same time, big investment projects are carried out in the regions under the Programme of the President of Turkmenistan for Social and Economic Development of the country in 2018 2024, National Programme of improvement of social and living conditions of rural population until 2020 and other large-scale social and economic programmes.

These projects fundamentally change the life of Turkmen rural areas.Owing to big investment, modern grain elevators for storage of hundreds thousands tons of wheat and bog milling facilities operates in the country these days.

Chemical industry providing the farmers with mineral fertilizers is rapidly developing.Production base of this industry will be enhanced by the opening of new facility for production of carbamide fertilizers built in Garabogaz, Balkan Velayat.

The plan equipped with advanced technology and equipment from the world best manufacturers is provided with the power from gas turbine generators and well as with chemically treated seawater.

Highly qualified specialists has been trained to work at this petrochemical complex.Completion of construction project of this facility is very important for development of agricultural complex, petrochemical industry and the economy of the country in general.

The Agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management, Turkmen State Agricultural University and John Deere International GmbH on development of bilateral cooperation in education in 2018 2021 has been signed in April this year for improvement of educational and training practices in modernization of agricultural sector.

This document outlines such directions of work as training of the teachers, students and specialists of the Ministry, field seminar, testing and evaluation of new technologies and other.The Government subsidies and tax benefits are great stimulus for agricultural producers.

Farmers and farming associations are provided with equipment, seeds, irrigation water and other services on beneficial terms.In addition, the system of beneficial crediting of agricultural projects is widely used.

Necessary land plots are allocated to the ministries, departments, facilities of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and farmers associations for realization of such projects.Seminars with the participation of representatives of regional administrations, heads of farming associations, agronomists, equipment operators, farmers and elders were held in Gyavers Farmign Association of Ak Bugday etrap, Ahal Velayat, Goch farming Association of Serdar etrap, Balkan Velayat, Amudarya Farming Association of Charjow etrap, Lebap Velayat, Atabayev Farming Association of Vekilbazar etrap, Mary Velayat on occasion of the start of winter crops sowing.

The issues organized sowing campaign, use of modern methods of agriculture and advanced practices of the grain cultivation have been discussed.Exhibition of the products made by the facilities of agricultural complex of the country as well as modern equipment of agricultural sphere have been organized under the seminars.
