President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov who is currently on working visit in Balkan Velayat received Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Magerram Ogly Mamedyarov who arrived in Turkmenbashy as the Head of representative delegation of his country as well as Vice-President, Investment and Marketing, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Elshad Nasirov.
Greeting the Head of the State and having expressed sincere gratitude for spared time, Azerbaijan Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings and best wishes of President Ilham Aliyev to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov confirming the interest of Azerbaijan side in further steadfast development of constructive interstate dialog meeting common interests.
Having expressed the gratitude for warm words, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that our countries are united by friendly neighbour connections from the old times what is stipulated by historical, cultural and spiritual commonness of two nations.
Having conveyed return warm greetings to the Head of Azerbaijan, Turkmen leader noted that Turkmen Azeri relations receive new features and content.Speaking of this, the Head of the State addressed the gratitude to Azerbaijan side for permanent support of international initiatives proposed by Turkmenistan.
Continuing the meeting, the sides exchanged the opinions on priority subjects of bilateral cooperation under realization of the agreements reached on high level as well as under existing considerable potential for intensification of beneficial partnership in all spectrum including trade and economic sphere.
In this case, important role is given to the activity of Inter-governmental Turkmenistan Azerbaijan Commission as well as to active contact between business structures.Energy sector, where Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan stand for the establishment of balanced multi optional system of energy carriers’ supplies to the world markets, was highlighted among key directions of cooperation.
Geographic location of both states also make favourable prepositions for successful consolidation of efforts in realization of the projects for the formation of international transit and transport corridors with all necessary infrastructure connecting Europe and Asia and providing beneficial routes of cargo transportation.
In this aspect, the importance of cooperation in these strategic spheres not only for bilateral relations but also for entire region was highlighted.At the same time, the importance of further consolidation of traditional humanitarian dialog, stimulation of fruitful relations in education, science, culture sport and tourism, continuation of joint activities supporting the improvement of Turkmen Azeri friendship relations was noted.
Steadfast dynamics is always typical for interstate political and diplomatic relations.Bilateral foreign ministry consultations are held regularly.In this context, it was also noted that Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan efficiently cooperate under competent international organizations like the UN, OSCE, ICO and other making large contribution to general efforts for provision of global peace, security and prosperity.
Being the neighbours in the Caspian, both countries are supporters of turning of the region into stability link in Eurasia and into arena of long-term beneficial partnership.In the end of the meeting, the Head of Azerbaijan Foreign Minister expressed deep gratitude for meaningful detailed dialog and permanent attention rendered by Turkmen leader to the subjects of bilateral cooperation, which new milestone was opened by official visit of the Head of Turkmenistan to Baku in last August.
In the end, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his guests expressed the confidence that interstate relations would continue to be successfully developed on equal and constructive base acquiring new specific content.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan Republic to Turkmenistan Hasah Sultan ogly Zeynalov also took part in the meeting.
