A festival in honor of the 85th anniversary of composer Nury Halmamedov opened in Turkmenistan

The opening ceremony of the Mukama siňen ömür festival in honor of the 85th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen composer Nury Halmamedov was held at the National Music and Drama Theater of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly, the MIC reports.

The event began with a spectacular performance of the work “Independent Turkmenistan” written by composer Danatar Hydyrov. It was superbly performed by the State Choir of Turkmenistan and the Symphony Orchestra of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after May Kuliyeva.

Then the audience was treated to a performance of the symphonic work “Turkmenistan” by Nury Halmamedov. Next, the violin ensemble “Mukam” performed the composition “Nagmalar”, also written by an outstanding Turkmen composer, causing delight among the audience.

Next, Nury Halmamedov’s contemporaries, outstanding masters of the arts of Turkmenistan, took the stage. They shared their memories of the time spent in a creative union with the composer, who was born in 1938 and made a significant contribution to the development of Turkmen classical music.

The event continued with the performance of works created by the People's Artist of Turkmenistan and laureate of the State Prize named after Magtymguly.

The festival will last two days. Within its framework, various cultural events will be organized in Ashgabat, the city of Arkadag and the velayats of the country, which promise to be interesting and exciting.
