A forum to attract investment in the fuel and energy sector of Turkmenistan starts in Paris

The International Forum to attract foreign investment in the energy sector of Turkmenistan (TEIF 2024) will begin its work today in Paris. This prestigious forum is organized by the State Concerns “Turkmengas” and “Turkmennebit” in partnership with the “Turkmen Forum” and the British company GaffneyCline. Turkmenportal is the official media partner of the forum.

The delegation of Turkmenistan led by Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Amanov arrived in the capital of France on the eve of the start of the forum, on April 23.

Members of the government delegation visited the SUEZ water treatment facility, then went to the famous Palace of Versailles, the International Methane Observatory and the exhibition “Magtymguly Fragi and the Cultural Heritage of Turkmenistan”, organized in honor of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet.

In the evening a tour of Paris was organized.

The main goal of the Paris Forum is to attract foreign direct investment in the oil and gas, energy, transport and communications sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan.The forum will discuss prospects for cooperation in the field of production, transportation and refining of oil and gas, the development of renewable energy sources, as well as the expansion of international dialogue for the sustainable development of the energy sector.

The forum will be attended by key national organizations and ministries of Turkmenistan, including the State Concerns "Turkmennebit" and "Turkmengas", the State Corporation "Turkmengeologiya", the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Turkmen Refinery Plant, the State Concern "Turkmenhimiya", the Ministry of Energy, NAPECO, TAPI Pipeline Company Limited and the Natural Gas Research Institute of the Turkmengas State Concern.

They will provide potential investors with comprehensive information about new investment projects.

During the forum on April 24-25, effective solutions to reduce methane and associated gas emissions during the development of hydrocarbon fields will be considered.Leading experts from Turkmenistan and the UN, representatives of OPEC, the International Energy Agency (IEA) and international companies will take part in a panel discussion on the topic “Reducing methane and carbon dioxide emissions from hydrocarbon production.”
