A Government Commission on Water Supply was established in Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov established a Government Commission on Water Supply and approved its composition. The corresponding Decree was signed by the head of state at a Government meeting today, the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television reported.

The Commission was established "in view of uninterrupted water supply to the sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan, rational and efficient use of water resources, as well as making water reserves," the document says.

As reported at a meeting on the development of the agricultural complex held this week, this Commission was headed by Deputy Prime Minister Annageldi Yazmyradov, who oversees the agro-industrial complex.

It also included the heads of the Supreme Control Chamber, the State Committee of Water Management, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, research institutes, regional administrations and other departments.

At the same meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to consider the possibility of starting the construction of desalination plants and water supply to Ashgabat from the Caspian Sea.
