A meeting of the heads of customs departments of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan was held in Ashgabat

In Ashgabat, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, Maksat Hudaykulyev, and the Head of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, Shahin Bagirov, reports the website of the Turkmen customs department.

The parties positively assessed the developing relations between the customs services of the two countries, discussed current cooperation and priority areas for further interaction.

It was noted that in 2023, representatives of Turkmenistan took part in events organized by the Customs Committee of Azerbaijan. Joint trainings for customs officers were also conducted as part of international programs. Work is underway to create an advisory committee in the trilateral Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Türkiye format.

During the visit, the guest from Azerbaijan also got acquainted with the work of the customs service of Turkmenistan, visited office and sports facilities, and a museum exhibition.

Shahin Bagirov visited Turkmenistan as part of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation on the Azerbaijani side.
