During the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding the current level of political-diplomatic relations between the two countries, the unification of efforts in promoting peace, strengthening trust between states and peoples, expanding the scope of friendly cooperation, and consolidating inter-parliamentary cooperation.
During the meeting, the important role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in the relations established between the two friendly countries in various fields was highlighted.Attention was drawn to the importance of the "Central AsiaRepublic of Korea" parliamentary forum, established based on the proposal put forward by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during his visit to the Republic of Korea in 2022, in developing friendly relations between the countries of the region.
The universal significance of Turkmenistan’s initiative, put forward at the plenary meeting of the 80th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly to declare 2028 as the "Year of International Law" with the aim of enhancing the role of international law and strengthening trust and dialogue worldwide, was emphasized.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of the working visit made by the President of the Republic of Korea to our country in raising political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural relations between the two countries to a high level.
The parties noted that inter-parliamentary cooperation has become active and an essential part of friendly interstate relations, and the activities of inter-parliamentary friendship groups on a bilateral basis increase the opportunities for becoming closely acquainted with each other's positive international initiatives, humanitarian domestic and foreign policies, and exchanging experience in legislative work, thereby supporting interstate relations through parliamentary diplomacy.
