A new fine-fiber cotton variety has been created in Turkmenistan

In the Research and Production Center of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute, a fine-fiber cotton variety "Yoleten-58" was created through selection. It was obtained by selection from the population of the “Yoloten-42” cotton variety.

As reported in today's issue of the newspaper "Turkmenistan", the weight of a cotton box of a new variety is 33 grams. Seeds of medium size, light green.

The yield of the new variety is 33,2 centners per hectare, which is 2,1 centners more than the standard variety. It ripens a day earlier than standard varieties, and is also resistant to fungi.

Currently, Yoleten-58 is being tested in the fields of Mary and Ahal velayats.
