A series about the life of Mahatma Gandhi will be filmed in India

Applause Entertainment production company will shoot a series about the life of a famous political and public person Mahatma Gandhi. The scope of the coming project is compared to the “Crown” series from Netflix, daily.afisha reports.

The biographical books of Indian historian and journalist Ramachandra Guha’s “Gandhi Before India” and “Gandhi The Years that Changed the World” will be taken as movie fundamentals.It is expected that the series will show the whole life of Gandhi from earliest days up to the time of shaping him into a Mahatma, a revered person in South East Asia.

The main role will play an actor Pratik Gandhi.The full cast is still unknow, however, it is expected that up to 150 will be engaged - about as many characters are mentioned in Guha's books.

The movie will be shot in three languages at once gujarati, hindi and english. Shooting is expected to begin in summer 2023 and will take place in India, South Africa and Great Britain.
