A series of trainings for social workers has been launched in Turkmenistan

A series of trainings for social work specialists has been launched as part of a joint project of the government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations.

The purpose of the seminars is to provide participants with appropriate knowledge and skills in the field of social work in anticipation of the introduction of inclusive and high-quality social services at the local level next year. They are conducted by national trainers who have successfully completed online training at the Bulgarian Social Activity and Practice Institute (SAPI).

Social work specialists will study the main tools for conducting social work based on international experience in order to lay the foundation for further implementation of the new model of social services in society.

It should be noted that the training of specialists in social work is part of a large-scale 8-month professional development program for employees of social services in Turkmenistan.

The Program “Improving the social protection system by introducing inclusive quality social services at the local level” is financed by the Joint SDG Fund and implemented by several UN agencies UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA, UNODC, as well as the government of Turkmenistan.
