A student from Turkmenistan won first place at the XVII International Olympiad in the Russian language YaRus

Lale Rzagulyyeva, a 4th year student majoring in Russian language and literature at Turkmen state university named after Magtymguly, won first place at the 17th International student Olympiad in Russian Language YaRus, organised by the Siberian federal University of the Russian Federation.

As part of the Olympiad, held remotely, participants competed in three categories: Russian students majoring in the humanities/non-humanities and international students.Tasks for each category of participants were prepared separately.

The assignments for foreign participants, among whom Lale Rzagulyyeva successfully competed, included several stages that allowed for an assessment of their comprehensive language proficiency.International students completed assignments on vocabulary, grammar, and phonetics, demonstrating a deep understanding of the structure and sound of Russian words.

Overall, the Olympiad tasks were original and required participants to demonstrate not only knowledge of the Russian language, but also resourcefulness, creativity, the ability to work with various sources, and the use of neural networks and other artificial intelligence tools.

Following the Olympiad, the jury noted the high level of knowledge and preparation in the Russian language of the Turkmen contestant.Lale confidently entered the competition among the winners and was awarded I degree diploma.

It should be noted that, in total, among the participants of the three categories, only 7 winners of the I places were determined, one of which was obtained by a student from our country.

In addition, another representative of Turkmenistan is among the Olympic medalists.This is Dildora Bahtiyorova, who is currently studying at the South Ural state university of the RF.

Our compatriot also performed successfully in the International students category and rightfully won the II place in the prestigious competition.The intellectual competition Yarus brought together 320 students of humanities and non-humanitarian fields from 40 higher and secondary specialized educational institutions in Russia, as well as 159 students from 53 universities in 31 countries of the near and far abroad.

According to the organisers, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ecuador and China represented the largest number of foreign participants this year.
