According to Iran’s customs, trade turnover with Turkmenistan falls by 15%

The Iranian news outlet Financial Tribune, with reference to Iran’s customs administration, reports that Iran traded 257,483 tons of non-oil commodities worth $153.97 million with Turkmenistan during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Aug. 22).

According to the news outlet, this marks a 37.8% and 14.75% decline in tonnage and value respectively compared with last year’s corresponding period.

Iran primarily exported potatoes and sugar and imported some 8438 tons of raw cotton, charred coal and mineral oils worth $4,48 mln from Turkmenistan.

It has not been specified whether a one-month ban imposed by Turkmenistan on Iranian trucks to enter the country has somehow affected the decline in trade turnover.
