Afghanistan to Ink Product Import Deals With Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Iran

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Afghanistan (MoCI) said that it is planning to sign deals with Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Iran to import wheat and oil, the TOLOnews television network reported last Saturday.

A spokesman for the MoCI Abdul Salam Javad, said that the deals will be effective for regulating the prices of commodities in Afghanistan.

“We have had talks with Turkmenistan about the oil. We want to have official and permanent contracts,” Abdul Salam Javad said, adding that “We are in talks with Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran about the wheat and flour”.

Turkmenistan and Afghanistan jointly implement projects on the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission lines and fiber-optic communication line, and railways.
