Agricultural Producer in Turkmenistan’s Lebap Harvests 17 Tons of Fruits

Entrepreneur Bahtiyar Ahmedov’s first harvest last year from his fruit trees in Turkmenistan’s Lebap velayat amounted to 17 tons.

To date, the businessman has grown over 10 varieties of fruit trees, such as apple, pear, apricot, plum, peach, cherry, sweet cherry, persimmon, almond, walnut and two varieties of grapes on a 85-hectare land plot.

The trees were planted taking into account all agricultural standards, the distance between tree rows is 4-5 meters, between seedlings - 2-3 or 4-5 meters, depending on the variety, according to the report.

The businessman imported some seedlings of apple, peach, apricot, walnut, cherry, sweet cherry and almond from Tajikistan.

In 2019, the Turkmen agricultural producer received 99 hectares of land land at the Gulustan village of Lebap velayat’s Hojambaz etrap for up to 99 years to grow fruit trees.

The businessman currently has a JCB excavator at his disposal. In the future, in accordance with the agreement, the private farmer expects to receive one tractor and two ploughs produced by John Deere.
