The “Language Park” project has launched in Almaty, offering free learning of foreign languages in the fresh air. The presentation of the initiative took place in the city’s Central Park of Culture and Leisure, Kazpravda.kz reports.
The uniqueness of the project lies in the holding of language courses in the open air in a relaxed atmosphere. Educational sites will operate as scheduled in eight largest parks in Almaty, one in each district.
Classes will be held several times a week in the evening, lasting up to four hours. Anyone can participate, regardless of age and level of language proficiency. The program includes the study of eight languages, including Kazakh,
Russian, English, Turkish, Korean and Chinese. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive certificates.
During the cold season, the project is planned to be moved to regional community centers, providing year-round training.
It is worth noting that such free language schools, with the support of the city administration and volunteers, have been successfully operating in Almaty for seven years.
